Islam is the second largest religion in Russia. According to a census in 2012,[2] Muslims population of Russia was 9,400,000 or 6.5% of the total Russian population. However, the populations of two Islamic majority areas (Chechnya and Ingushetia,[2]) were not included in this census due to the unrest of those areas. If counted, it would have added nearly 2 million additional people to that count. Nord Kamal Mosque in Norilsk, Russia is the world’s northernmost mosque.[1](Not in picture).
