Muslims across the Globe: The Cathedral Mosque in Moscow, Russia

The Cathedral mosque was originally named as Tatar Mosque, and was built in 1904. The original mosque was demolished in 2011 and a new mosque was built on the site. It was officially inaugurated on September, 23, 2015. The new Mosque can accommodate ten thousand worshipers. Russian president Vladimir Putin, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Territories along with local Muslims, participated in the inauguration ceremony.[3]
